Longing and Nostalgia
New art
Happy July Everyone
“Anticipation” 30 by 40” Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas
Years living away and longing for home, my nostalgic memories of childhood trips to Newtown and my sadness at seeing the demise of the outports have always been the driving force behind my work. On a trip home after the moratorium, I was startled to see a lone motorboat on the water one sunny day. People moved away and houses were left abandoned or sold off for a pittance. It doesn’t feel so bad now, just different. The piece above evokes memory, longing, and hope. I hope it does for you too.

I Hope July sees you well and without incident. I am seeing my vegetables poking through in my gardens and my flower beds are looking nice even though I lost a few annuals to unexpected frost.
Thanks for dropping by
